Dual-system architecture

Both ladders, built in — not one bolted onto the other

A Cameroonian school runs the Anglophone subsystem, the Francophone subsystem, or both at once. Each keeps its own marking scale, its own report card and its own vocabulary.

Anglophone subsystem

GCE Board Ordinary and Advanced Level

O / A Level
  • Marks out of 20, graded A–U. The grade bands are the school’s own and are set in Settings, not hardcoded.
  • Continuous assessment and terminal exam. Weighted per subject, carried through to the report card.
  • GCE registration files. Candidates, subjects and sessions, exported in the Board’s own layout.

Séquences, terms and MINESEC report cards

Séquences
  • Six séquences, three terms. The average is computed séquence by séquence, then consolidated per term.
  • A coefficient on every subject. Rank, the moyenne générale and the appreciation all follow from it.
  • Report cards in the expected form. The bulletin carries the school’s own stamp and can be reissued without losing the version already signed.

Report card — 5e, Séquence 3

Mathématiques 4 15,50 / 20
Français 4 13,00 / 20

Collège bilingue

Running both under one roof?

A bilingual college keeps one register, one fee structure and one calendar, while each stream keeps the marking scale and the report card its own board expects. Nothing has to be entered twice.

How a school is set up

Fees and reconciliation

MTN MoMo and Orange Money, reconciled on arrival

A parent pays from the phone they already use. The payment lands against the right pupil, on the right invoice, with a receipt at both ends.

The paper round

Before
  • A bordereau nobody can search A parent pays at a counter, the slip goes in a folder, and the balance is only as current as the last person to open it.
  • Reconciled by hand, at night Somebody reads a carrier statement against a ledger and types the difference in. Every keystroke is a chance to put a payment on the wrong child.
  • The family finds out last A parent who paid last week cannot tell whether it landed until they come in and ask.

DIGISCHOOL

After
  • The payment carries the pupil A charge is raised against a pupil and paid against that charge, so there is no step where a human decides whose money this was.
  • Settled once, however often it is told A carrier that repeats a callback does not raise a second receipt; the ledger is written once and the second telling is ignored.
  • Both ends hold the same record The bursary sees the payment and the family sees the receipt, from the same row, at the same moment.

A receipt that can be checked

Every receipt carries a reference the bursary can look up and a family can quote, so a dispute is a lookup rather than an argument.

The day closes itself

Income, expenses and the day’s takings are already added up when the bursar comes to close, because each one was written as it happened.

The family is told

An invoice raised or a payment received reaches the parent’s portal, and by WhatsApp where the school has it configured.

One product, four jobs

Four portals, one set of records

Everyone signs in at the same door. What opens behind it is decided by the role the school gave them.

Principal & founder

The school as a whole: enrolment, marking progress, money in and out, and what still needs doing before a term can close.

  • Approve accounts and set roles
  • Roll the year over in one pass

Bursar & économe

Charges, invoices, tranches and waivers, with the mobile money ledger reconciling itself as payments arrive.

  • Raise a charge for a class or a pupil
  • Close the day against real figures

Teacher

Marks, the register, homework and remarks — on a staffroom laptop or on a phone at the classroom door.

  • Enter marks offline, sync when there is signal
  • Take the register in one screen

Parent & pupil

One screen per child: what is owed, what was paid, how they are doing and what the school has said.

  • Pay from the phone, get the receipt
  • Message the bursary or a teacher

Built for the network you have

When the power goes and the line drops, the school keeps working

Designed for schools where the electricity fails before the fibre does, and where a teacher’s phone is the most reliable computer on the campus.

Offline first, then it catches up

Marks and the register are taken with no connection at all and queue on the device. When the signal comes back the queue is sent and reconciled, in order.

Light enough for 2G

No framework, no bundler, no megabyte of JavaScript. The pages are HTML and the assets are cached by a service worker, so a repeat visit costs almost nothing.

The payment path works on any handset

Mobile money is confirmed on the parent’s own phone with the prompt their carrier already sends. No smartphone and no app are required to pay.

What it costs

Priced per school, quoted in FCFA

What a school pays depends on how many pupils are on the roll and which modules it turns on. Tell us the shape of the school and we will put a figure to it.

Nursery & primary

Maternelle et primaire

On request

Quoted per academic year, in FCFA

  • Register, classes and the class teacher
  • Fees, receipts and the family portal
  • Report cards on the primary ladder

Groups & institutes

More than one campus under one office

On request

Quoted per academic year, in FCFA

  • Everything in secondary & high school
  • One secretariat across several schools
  • Figures consolidated without sharing pupils
Ask for a quote

No figure is published here because none is set: a quote is made against the roll and the modules, and it is the only price we will name.

Talk to a person

Tell us about the school, we will show you the rest

Leave the school’s name and how to reach you. A person reads it — there is no autoresponder here — and comes back with a walkthrough on your own figures.

  • A walkthrough against your own classes and fee structure
  • A written quote in FCFA before anything is signed
  • Your existing register imported from the spreadsheet you keep it in
